Mix Notes:
For my mix assignment, I chose a rap/hip-hop song from a free mixing website by Side Effects Project called Sing for Me. It has a heavy influence from Eminem as the lead singer/rapper sounds just like him but does not want to be compared to Eminem. I used the Real Slim Shady as a reference track for this song because when I first heard Sing for Me it reminded me of it. After mixing the volume to comfortable levels throughout the whole song, I worked on making the bass and drums sound stronger as they did not sound how I felt they should. I then worked on panning most of the background songs to create a wide stereo image that was equal on both sides. After that, I did minor tweaking on volumes to ensure there were no peaks that hit red and balanced the background inst/vocals to be more level with each other. Finally, I put the Pro Limiter on my master bus and mastered the true peak and LUFS levels to Spotify standards.
